Cheyenne Woods, niece of Tiger Woods and Wake Forest University junior, won the ACC Title yesterday. Tied for the lead going into the last round of play on Sunday, April 17, Cheyenne shot 68 to finish 5-under 208 and seven shots ahead of second place winner Allie White.
The ACC championship title is Cheyenne’s first win of the 2010-2011 NCAA golf season. Heading into this weekend’s tournament, Woods was ranked No. 38 in the Golfweek/Sagarin women’s college golf rankings; and was No. 76 in the OWmen’s World Amateur Golf Ranking (administered by the R&A and USGA).
Cheyenne, who’s game was nurtured by her grandfather Earl Woods early on, has been on the golf worlds radar for a while; mostly because she shares the same bloodline as the world’s most famous golfer, uncle Tiger.
However, claiming the ACC Title is sure to propel the talented golfer and rising star atop the rankings.
Yesterday Woods told ACC.com, “Today, I really felt confident all day and knew I could hit the shots that I wanted to. That was important on this course because the greens are so slick that you have to land the ball in the right spots.”
Spoken like a true Woods.

She’s cute. Given that she’s a junior at Wake Forest, does that mean she’s under 21? She’s way too cute to be that young… hahaha
