The wait is over.
Regular season football officially returns tonight as the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants faceoff and begin to write the next chapter of their storied rivalry. Although the New York Giants (and virtually every other NFL team) has outdueled the underachieving Cowboys lately, this is one matchup that still gets the people going.
America’s Team versus the reigning Super Bowl champions. Who will take round 1 of this heavyweight battle?
We’re still hours away from the result, but allow this 78 second video set the stage for what we’ve all been waiting for the last seven months.
Also, don’t forget to tune into the NFL Kickoff pre-game show featuring Mariah Carey and No Doubt. Broadcasting live from New York City’s Rockefeller Center at 7:30PM/ET, the performances will air on NBC, NFL Network, and NFL Mobile via Verizon. (If you’re into that sorta thing.)

These teams have a long history and let’s hope we see that played out on the field tonight. The boys from the lone star state definitely have something to prove looking at the past few meetings between these two. I have my DVR timers all set up and an order of chicken wings in, so I think I am good to go. I plan on recording every game this year on my Hopper’s huge drive so I can watch a game every day of the week. I work Sunday’s at Dish, and I missed way too many games last year. I really like these Wednesday games because I can watch them live, I hope there are more this season. I am so hyped I can’t wait for kickoff.
Hey Sam-You sound fired up! Unfortunately, this is the only Wednesday night game of the season, but starting next week, you’ll get a game every Thursday (NFL Network), Sunday, and Monday.
