I’m bursting with excitement about the news I’m about to share!
Today is the launch of my new video series, UnManning the Game TV. Leveraging the title of my all-female fantasy football league, I’ve decided to expand the brand to include a video platform to celebrate women in sports and entertainment who are “unmanning the game” and busting up the all-boys club.
This year has been such an interesting time for women, especially in sports. From America’s darling Mo’Ne Davis making Sports Illustrated history to CBS Sports launching “We Need To Talk” the first all-female sports talk show; to the fearless outcry from millions of die-hard female NFL fans demanding change to the league’s domestic violence stance — sharing empowering stories of female shot callers felt so very necessary and appropriate as women continue to make strides towards gender equality.
Monthly, I will chat with female game changers in the business who inspire me.
First up is mommy mogul Amber Sabathia. She’s most well-known as the lovely wife of New York Yankees starting pitcher CC Sabathia. But trust me, there’s so much more to this entrepreneur, philanthropist, fashion designer, and NYC marathon runner. I had many favorite moments while chatting with Amber during the premiere episode of my series, but the thing that stuck with me most was her response to the question many single women who aspire to have a family and run a thriving business ponder — how do you successfully juggle a marriage, motherhood, and a career? Her surprisingly simple, yet refreshing response may shock you as it did me. Hint: Pharrell would agree. So treat yourself to a little Monday motivation and get inspired by watching Amber glow as she discusses everything from running the PitCCh In Foundation and CCandy Clothing to feminism. Oh, and Yankees fans, you know I couldn’t let her go without getting an update on our ace. Click play to learn how he’s coming along, and so much more!
Thanks for watching and I hope you’re excited about this new video series. I look forward to bringing you a new video next month. And a special, special thank you goes out to Amber for chatting with me, CreativeP2 (@CreativeP2) for executive producing the vid, as well as Napoleon Complex Project for getting behind the camera, capturing my vision, and sharing Amber’s story!
