I told you it was coming!
On 7/11, an all new version of All Sports Everything Radio kicked off on FLOEmpire Radio, and I introduced new segments to the show while still sounding off on the latest trending sports topics.
I began the show with my first new segment “My Top 3” (8:05), which included Tim Duncan’s retirement, Serena’s historic Grand Slam win, and the pending details of Draymond Green’s alleged assault in Michigan.
Then, I went “Head 2 Head” with radio personality, actor, and emcee Torae (@torae). He stopped by to discuss the “Question of the Day”, past and upcoming endeavors, as well as current NBA news.
I posed this week’s “Question of the Day” (16:32): In the wake of the tragic shootings last week, New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony posted a powerful call-to-action on his social media pages imploring his fellow athletes to use their influence to inspire change in their communities. The overwhelming reaction from fans and critics alike, was finally, someone has the courage to lead the charge. So my question to you is how? What plan of action can athletes take to effectively mobilize around police brutality and to also minimize the senseless killings within our own communities?
We continued by talking about Torae’s role on the VH1 hit “The Breaks” (37:31), his album “Entitled” (45:40), the new look Knicks (1:00:45), thoughts on Durant and the idea of “super teams” in the NBA (1:07:38), and last but not least, Tim Duncan’s legacy as he retires (1:17:10).
If you missed the live broadcast and want to catch up, you can listen to the audio or watch the video, both posted below.
Special thanks to my guest Torae, my new FLOEmpire Radio fam, and to you for the continued #fanluv. I look forward to bringing you a brand new guest next week. Until then, please help me spread the word! And if you need a refresher on how to catch the show live, click her for details.
